Hip & Knee Surgery

Richard Hargrove was born in Kent and went to Tonbridge School. He attended Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in London.

He became a Specialist Registrar in the South West Thames training scheme and also has a Diploma in Sports Medicine.

After attaining his final FRCS(Trauma and Orth), he went on to become the Senior Clinical Fellow in Hip Revision Surgery at Kings College University Hospital in London. After a short observership at the Mayo Clinic, he became the ‘Furlong Fellow’ in Hip Surgery under John Edge specialising in uncemented hip replacements and hip revision work. He became a Consultant at Frimley Park Hospital in 2008.

He has been published on a variety of trauma and orthopaedic topics and has lectured on hip replacement surgery both at home and abroad.

He specialises in the lower limb surgery including: Hip arthroplasty, ‘mini-hip’ replacement, hip revision surgery, knee replacement surgery, knee arthroscopy and sports injuries.

He is married to Mee Mee who is a GP and they have two children – Jack and Ellie.
