Philip Rosell
Philip Rosell was born in Hampshire in 1966 and attended schools
in Farnborough including the Salesian College. He went to boarding
school in London (Dulwich) prior to studying Medicine at Guys Hospital.
Whilst at University he joined the Army as a medical officer, a
capacity he maintains to the current day.
After qualification in 1991 he worked at The Cambridge Military
Hospital and as the Regimental Medical Officer to 1st Bn Parachute
Regiment in Aldershot. He carried out his surgical training at
Portsmouth and Frimley with a plastic surgery post in Salisbury
prior to orthopaedic training in Wessex. His training was completed
with a sports trauma fellowship in Grenoble in the French Alps
in 2004-2005 where he was involved in developing computer aided
surgical techniques. Prior to commencing his consultant post at
Frimley he was offered a shoulder surgery fellowship at Oxford
under Professor Andrew Carr. His surgical interests are shoulder
and elbow surgery and sports injuries of the shoulder.
He remains a regular officer in the Royal Army Medical Corps and
was deployed to the Middle East during the 2003 conflict, working
at the main UK field hospital.
His interests include sailing, rugby, skiing and French language
and culture. He married Tracey in 1994 and they have 2 daughters. |
