Alex Wee, FRCS (Trauma and Orthopaedics)
Alex joined Frimley Park Hospital in August 2006 as a Consultant
Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in foot and ankle surgery, having
graduated from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in
1993. He completed his Orthopaedic Training in East Anglia and
did a one year foot and ankle fellowship at Addenbrookes Hospital,
Cambridge, and The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore.
Whilst at Addenbrookes, working with ‘Fred the Foot’ Robinson,
he was trained in modern bunion surgery, complex forefoot and hindfoot
reconstruction, complex foot trauma and diabetic foot surgery.
His experience to surgery of the neurological foot and ankle arthroplasty
was consolidated at Stanmore, whilst working with Dishan Singh.
As a travelling fellow, he visited Dr Chris Coetzee in Minneapolis,
USA in summer 2006.
He has been a faculty member on the Oxbridge Forefoot reconstruction,
and the Stanmore foot and ankle courses, and has trained orthopaedic
registrars on the East Anglia, Stanmore, and South West Thames
training programs. Alex has presented research at the British and
American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle societies. He is a member of
the British Orthopaedic Association, and British Orthopaedic Foot
and Ankle Society.
When not at work or at home with his wife and two little girls,
Alex can be found fly fishing in the middle of a trout stream. |
