Investigations

Plain X rays

These are routinely performed at most outpatient appointments and still give the most information about changes due to osteoarthritis.

MRI Scans

An MRI scan may be requested after your initial consultation to give more information about soft tissues surrounding a joint, typically meniscal cartilages in the knee and the damage to rotator cuff tendons in the shoulder.

Bone Scans

A bone scan can be used to evaluate degenerative, inflammatory or infective bone problems.

Blood Tests

Blood tests can be used to rule out inflammatory or infective problems and will be necessary if you are due to have surgery

Fees

All the surgeons in Joint Reaction charge independently. Each surgeon has set fees for new consultations, follow ups and procedures.

We aim to keep within insurance company maxima to prevent you having to pay the gap between our charges and the amount your insurance company will pay.

Please contact individual surgeon’s private secretaries for fee charges.
