David Hinsley
FRCS Orth
David Hinsley is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in Foot & Ankle and Knee surgery. He completed his training in 2007 and was appointed as Consultant in Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery at Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey.
David qualified from Leicester University Medical School in 1993. He immediately joined the Army, as a Regimental Medical Officer with The Light Dragoons and 5 Airborne Brigade, subsequently undergoing basic surgical training in Wessex prior to commencing his orthopaedic training. He has served in Bosnia, Northern Ireland, Kuwait and Afghanistan.
His Orthopaedic training was conducted in London, Wessex and Oxford. He is fellowship trained in Foot & Ankle and Limb Reconstruction surgery. His fellowships were undertaken at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford and The Hospital for Special Surgery, New York, USA.
He has numerous peer-reviewed academic papers on foot and ankle surgery, trauma, and surgical training published in international journals. He has recently written a book chapter on orthopaedic trauma. He teaches and examines on the Oxford FRCS(Orth) course.
He has lectured, both nationally and internationally, on Foot & Ankle and Trauma surgery.
Outside medicine, David competes in triathlon and windsurfing races. He is engaged to Hannah.
